ACSI recruits, screens, trains, and supports Destinations students from the U.S. and Canada who attend ACSI member international schools in Latin America for a semester or year. These high school students, ages 14–18, live with Spanish-speaking, Christian host families or in school boarding facilities.
Each international host school has an international host school coordinator (IHSC) who provides the students and their host families with local and ongoing supervision and support throughout the school year. He or she is available to answer questions and help resolve issues. In addition, the IHSCs are supported in their role by the Destinations U.S. program coordinator who works out of ACSI headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO, USA.
