Student Registration Requirements

Process

1. BrainSkills will set up an account and email login information to designated person at the school.
2. Administrator can go to The Gibson Test to login.
3. Once logged in, administrator can add sub-groups to group students by grade, campus or class, etc.
4. Select appropriate group and select “New Student.” Group can be changed at any time.
5. Complete registration form and submit. Print login information. Provide to student when ready to take the test.
6. There is also a bulk registration process, which is described in a separate document.

8. Student registration record can be accessed and updated at any time.

Student Registration Questions

1. User ID—will be set automatically. Administrator can change during the registration process as desired as long as it does not have any special characters and is unique to the system.
2. Password—will be set automatically, but it can be changed as desired.
3. Client Student ID—field that can be used by school to track students; not required.
4. Group—automatically set based upon where the person registering the student was located in the admin system when they clicked to register a student. This can be changed at any time. It defines where the student is tracked and displayed in the account.
5. Test Count—automatically set to 1. It can be increased manually in cases when the student is taking the test multiple times.
6. Student First Name—required
7. Student Last Name—required
8. Date of Birth—required
9. Gender—required
10. Parent or Guardian Name—not required if registered by the school. Required if parents register the student directly.
11. Email address—optional. Needed if automatically sending login instructions to student at home. Where applicable, students can take test at home.
12. Check box to automatically send login information to student—check box if desire to send login credentials to student via email. Must provide email in field above.
13. Student Country—required, select from list
14. Student Zip Code—required
15. Phone number—optional
16. Race/ethnicity—required, select from list
17. Type of school—required, select from list
18. Grade level—required, select from list
19. Native English speaker—yes/no, required
