As an early educator, God daily gives us many opportunities to develop the potential of each child in our classroom for a very specific time in his or her life, not only for this year but a potential that can last for eternity. How do we accomplish this God sized mission?

Althea Penn

Althea Penn has over twenty years of experience in Christian education serving as a teacher, children’s ministry director and principal. She has earned a masters degree in Education Administration, an undergraduate degree in Organization Leadership, and holds certifications in early childhood education and administration. She is a dynamic communicator and serves as a featured conference speaker for numerous education organizations. As an educational consultant she conducts high quality seminars, provides technical assistance and guidance in the accreditation and licensing process. She is married to her best friend and high school sweetheart and they are the parents of two beautiful daughters who have also become certified educators.

Conference Musician

Peter Neumann

Peter is the Celebration Arts Pastor at Bayside Church Woodland and teaches clinics for conferences and churches around North America, Europe, and South America. He’s led worship with Lincoln Brewster, toured with Tommy Walker, has released 5 CD’s and a live worship DVD.

We were blessed to be the first to hear the song that Peter wrote for ACSI Early Educators: What He Said to Me. Peter says, "I wrote this song to encourage teachers at an ACSI Early Educators conference. These teachers love, guide, and nurture young children– a group of people Jesus valued as very important. Jesus pointed out that "the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" and took time to bless them and pray over the children (Matthew 19:13–15). The scriptures don't record a whole lot about his encounter with them and so this song imagines what might have happened in their interaction. The story is told from the perspective of a child that was there that day and will never forget what Jesus said."

Using Your Leadership Capabilities to Empower Others to Reach Their Full Potential 

This workshop provides program leaders with the opportunity to develop insight and skills in both the business and human relations component of administering programs for young children.

During this engaging presentation, you will:

• Review seven Biblical factors in the development and motivation of program staff.
• Identify numerous methods of motivating and inspiring team members to achieve program goals; increasing job satisfaction; and employee performance.
• Receive an understanding of the challenges of human resource management policies and practices, and current industry trends which reflect shifting societal values and environmental circumstances.
• Learn ways to maintain high morale and create a work environment which is fun and conducive to spiritual formation and faith development.

Professional Growth Hours / CEU's

ACSI is working with 24/7 Educational Services, LLC to provide in-service hours required for maintenance of teacher certification and/or an ACSI CEU for attending the conference seminars.
This is a web-based process that requires you to login.

• Either of the following websites may be used: www.my247ed.com or http://acsi.my247ed.com
• When you log in, you will be asked to select certifications. Please select ACSI Early Education. You may also want to select ACSI Northern CA and California Professional Development. 
• After you have registered, select Conference Center and it will bring up the conferences in your region and Early Education (providing you checked that box). 
• Select 2012 ACSI Elk Grove Early Education Conference. This selection will become available on Monday, April 23, 2012. 
• Once you select the conference, you will see the details for that conference. It will tell you the total number of hours available and the time periods for each session. Beside each session’s time period, you will see a drop down box. Select the right arrow and you will see the titles for every seminar offered in that session. Select the title of the seminar you attended. Repeat this process for every session you attended. 
• After you have provided the requested information and have completed an evaluation, you will be provided with the necessary follow-up documentation. 
• To print forms, go back to "My Account" and you will see the conferences you have attended. Select the forms and reports tab to print your certificates.

This service is free up to 30 days after the conference; after 30 days there is a $10.00 fee.
